The Lions' Den

Meet Our Honorary Patrons

Photo: Bramwell Tovey

Under Diane Loomer's direction, Chor Leoni has a polish, a sound, a spontaneity and a style that I feel is unequalled by any male voice choir that I have ever heard - and that includes the best on offer at the Eistedfodd in Wales. Thank you for such an inspiring performance and such great music-making.

More about our honorary patrons…

Welcome to the Lions' Den! This section of our website is packed with information. Here is a list of what you will find in each section:

Choir Profile

Our latest official choir biography, it offers a written snapshot of the choir and its accomplishments as well as a spiffy photo of the group. Downloadable versions are available in our Media Room.

Conductor Profile

Diane Loomer, C.M., has many credits to her name. Along with being a member of the Order of Canada and a YWCA Vancouver Woman of Distinction in Arts and Culture, we are proud to claim her as our founder and lion tamer. You can read her official biography here, and a downloadable version is available in our Media Room.

Members

Do you wonder who is singing in the choir? You’ll find a roster of our current members here. You will also find a photo of the choir along with a face map, so you can finally put a name to that bass in the back row!

Honorary Patrons

These esteemed individuals are leaders in their chosen fields, be it performance, conducting, or philanthropy. It is with great pride that we introduce them as our Honorary Patrons.

Board of Directors

Meet the hard-working members of Chor Leoni's Board of Directors here, and read a short description of a Board Members' duties.

PROMYS

PROgram for Mentoring Young Singers is Chor Leoni’s educational outreach plan that invites young, talented male singers of high school age to join with the choir in rehearsals and to sing part of a concert. All the details are here.

Composer Kudos

Over the years Chor Leoni has received notes and letters from many of the composers whose works we have performed. Read them here.

Lions in the Lens

Lions in repose, at play, in rehearsal, in tails - you’ll find pictures of them all here! "We’re ready for our close-up, Mr. DeMille.” (Note: This link takes you to our photo gallery on Flickr.com -- don't forget to use your back button to come back!)

Lynx

Other sites may name this section “links” but we wanted to keep things within the feline realm. Here you’ll find "lynx" to other websites that we like or think may be of interest to you.
