So, I think it's pretty hot out. The weather being the way it is, ice cream (I will recommend Crème
Brulee at the Ben & Jerry's down the street from the hotel) is a
tasty choice of snack. Or meal as the case may quite possibly be. So,
the weather being the way it is, you can't avoid getting all sticky.
I'm referring to the
weather, not the ice cream (though mine melted really fast). Whether it
was the bus ride from the airport or the rehearsal at the cathedral,
the humidity really has a way turning things from fairly warm to sticky
hot. But among the men, this is actually still being debated. Some come
from hotter, humider (I know what I said) places. Some are just
naturally chill, I suppose. I however, am just naturally sweaty and
whiny.
Heat notwithstanding (I'm inside my air-conditioned hotel room now),
the sun has its charms. This is best described from inside the
cathedral, where the impressive stained glass is literally shining. In
my divergent-thinking way, though, my first impression was to look at
the floor and see the light cast from the windows. There are some wisps
of cloud, as well as some mirage-esque waves in the air, all of which
translates to the coloured light on the floor as appearing
almost-watery.
The cathedral itself is quite impressive, but hot. But perhaps that's
enough. Who needs to hear me whine about being sweaty any more. And who
really wants to think of Chor Leoni as a group of sweaty men. Better to
think of the music and leave it at that, with the mystique intact.
