Departure day, June 27 & Sunday June 29

Take a night of pre-flight excitement and figure it for 4 hours of lost sleep.
Factor in 20 subsequent hours of travel time, including waiting on the runway, at various airports, and in the air. Then subtract a few hours of unsettled sleep in said waiting placing (always awaking with a start thinking "I've missed my flight!" All told, I think I arrived in Prague with a major sleep shortage.

That didn't stop us from exploring the city on our first free day! And what a city it is! We hit the highlights: beer and a hotdog on Wenceslas Square, done it. Climbed the castle steps, done it. Stuck our noses in various astounding churches, including St. Vitus during a sung Vespers service, yup yup. Gazed at the cubist lamp post - check. Gone 'wow' at all the amazing architecture - definitely done that. The list goes on and the fun part is that we've barely scratched the surface!

After a day of walking on cobblestones I've got a blister, despite wearing 'sensible shoes.' It was well worth it! Today we have a Czech lesson before heading out to the festival location itself and meeting all the other choirs.

It is gloriously hot and sunny, the beer is cold and wonderful, and the company is fabulous. What more could a lion want?
