Vancouver Choirs Unite for Katrina Fundraiser

For Immediate Release

(Vancouver, BC)  On Tuesday, October 18, 2005, 8:00 PM at Christ Church Cathedral, seven of Vancouver's premiere choirs join forces in a special fundraising effort benefiting New Orleans choirs affected by Hurricane Katrina.

More than any other musical form, choral music speaks to the collective soul of a community.  Whether through spirituals or sacred songs, national anthems or campfire songs, singing connects us to each other, to our pasts and to our future.  When members of Sing Seven and the Christ Church Cathedral Choir perform inspiring music in one of Vancouver"s best settings for choral concerts, it is sure to be an unforgettable – and moving – evening.

All the choirs, their members and their directors are donating their performances, and proceeds will assist choirs in New Orleans to re-build their organizations after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Tickets are just $20 at the door, and tax receipts can be issued for all donations over $50.
