Chor Leoni 2008/2009 Season Ticket Package Offer Closes Oct 1!

Welcome to Chor Leoni’s sixteenth season!

It’s a season packed with powerful music that seeks to heal, unite, inspire, and entertain. Our season  includes a co-presentation with the Chan Centre of Sweden’s famed Orphei Drängar. OD is the male choir I used as my model for Chor Leoni and we are thrilled to be able to bring them to Vancouver for the first time since 1989.

Our annual Remembrance Day concerts, Pity of War, are based upon the poetry of Siegfried Sassoon, John MacRae, Wilfred Owen, and others.  This year’s Yuletide Fires, with guests Mariateresa Magisano and Elektra Women’s Choir, takes on a glowing Italianate tone as we feature Ottorino Respighi’s radiant Laude per la Natività del Signore.  In March the choir invites you to Meetin’ Here Tonight, a concert of beloved spirituals and inspirational hymns.  And then there’s our annual entertainment in the Bard tent in June, this year called No Strings Attached.  Your view of puppets may never be the same again!  We’ve added a fourth performance to this always over-subscribed concert, but please don’t wait – last year’s performances sold out months in advance.  In fact, all of last year’s concerts sold out, so now is a good time to to become a subscriber.  It’s a season you won’t want to miss – and please do come up and say ‘hello!’
