June 1 is here and your favourite Chor Leoni member is probably walking around with a mantra of "step shuffle change kick" running through his head. Yes – summer is almost upon us!

1. No Holds Bard - Matinee Tickets Available - Evenings Sold Out!

Chor Leoni's summer concerts are hits. With a program full of surprises, great music, entertaining choreography involving the entire choir, and stellar mystery guests, fans know they are in for a treat. The message is apparently getting out, as one month before opening night our evening performances were sold out.

There are still tickets available for our first ever Bard show matinee, at 3 pm on Monday, June 25!

You didn't hear it from us, but the allure of an afternoon performance on an "unofficial" day off seems like a perfect way to herald the languid days of summer - and still enjoy the antics of the lions on stage before going for dinner on a sun-drenched patio.

Go ahead - take a "Chor Leoni" day - you deserve it!

2. Circle of Compassion CD Now in Editing Process

Chor Leoni released Songs of War and Peace in 1995 as a direct result of audience demand. Our Remembrance Day concerts had resonated so much with our fans that they wanted to take it home. Diane has planned to record a follow-up album for a while, and finally we can say that it is "in the can." With repertoire ranging from "O Vos Omnes" by Casals, to Milhaud's "Psaume 121" and McCutcheon's "Christmas in the Trenches" with Christopher Gaze as soloist, plus many more, this new CD is sure to become a favourite. (And just wait till you hear our version of "Bring Him Home" featuring Steve Maddock, baritone!)

Diane and Producer/Editor Jonathan Quick are thrilled with what they are hearing as they go through the painstaking editing process. We hope to have Circle of Compassion available this summer!

3. Chor Leoni Releases Quebec/Ontario August Tour Details

The lions are thrilled about their upcoming tour to Quebec and Ontario in August 2007. While the choir has toured our vibrant and exciting brand of choral music around the Western provinces and states as well as the Maritime provinces, this tour marks our first visit to Upper and Lower Canada.

The tour includes a performance for Montreal’s “Jusqu'aux oreilles/ Up to Your Ears” music series and concerts in Lachute, Quebec City and Ottawa before closing the Statford Summer Music Festival. The choir will also perform a mini-concert for museum attendees at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, sing for a morning church service in Montreal, and present a workshop in Waterloo entitled “Being Courageous – Breaking the Choral Fourth Wall.”
