1. HOPE, PEACE, LOVE, FUN: Our 2007/2008 Season

We are pleased to announce our next season, HOPE, PEACE, LOVE, FUN. Four simple titles that encompass entire worlds of human emotion and choral expression! This season finds us performing in West Vancouver, Burnaby, Abbotsford, Coquitlam, and Vancouver.

The rich comforting sound of Chor Leoni has become synonymous with Remembrance Day. HOPE is a concert expressing our need to maintain faith in the face of ongoing conflict. Repertoire includes the world premiere of a new piece for Remembrance Day entitled “We Two . . .” with poetry by Walt Whitman and music by Steve Sametz, as well works by Rautavaara, Elgar, Schubert, Chilcott, and Beethoven.

Featuring carols by some of Vancouver’s favourite composers and readings from beloved Canadian writers, PEACE is Chor Leoni’s Christmas offering of a ‘West Coast lessons and carols.’ In the tradition of Yuletide Fires the choir invites you to sit in quiet candlelit peace in the midst of the often too frantic preparations for the upcoming holidays to enjoy the premieres of new carols by Stephen Smith, Jonathan Quick, Willi Zwozdesky, Larry Nickel, Rupert Lang, and more.

Audiences love Chor Leoni for its highly professional approach to a diverse musical history, and LOVE offers a celebration of that trove as the choir explores the rich heritage of repertoire for men’s voices. Featuring music by Britten, Victoria, Poulenc, and Tormis, to name just a few, this is repertoire the men love – and so will you!

Chor Leoni concludes its season with three performances of FUN, the choir’s annual party in the Bard's tent at Vanier park. For this show the lions are going galactic: cosmic dust, celestial music, dazzling stars, and extraterrestrial entertainment. Hope, Peace, Love, Fun, Home – they’re all good things and they’re even better with Chor Leoni!

2. At Home With Chor Leoni - An Exceptional Evening

The season begins in grand style on October 3 with At HOME with Chor Leoni, the choir’s annual fundraising evening, where delicious food and wine, a stunning venue (this year in Southlands), and the choir ‘up close and personal’ all make for an elegant evening of entertainment. This year’s fundraising focus is the choir’s outreach program called PROMYS: PROgram for Mentoring Young Singers. For your convenience you may order tickets for At HOME with Chor Leoni online as well, either as part of your season tickets package or separately. If ordering separately please note that this item appears at the bottom of the order form.
