The E-Roar has a new look!
Dear friends of Chor Leoni,
We are thrilled to unveil our new look with this issue of the E-Roar, which is coming to you as an off-shoot of our completely made over website,
www.chorleoni.org.
In this issue:
- Chor Leoni Launches Improved Website
- Join the Pride! Chor Leoni's 2006 Endowment Fund Campaign
- Yuletide Fires Performances and Vancouver Sun Contest
Chor Leoni is thrilled to announce the launch of our newly reconstructed website,
www.chorleoni.org. This project was made possible by a grant from the Vancouver Foundation's B.C. Arts Renaissance Advisory Committee and is designed to enhance the choir's outreach and fundraising abilities. The E-Roar's new look originates from this new website.
Designed by the web gurus of Vancouver-based
Raised Eyebrow Web Studio and utilizing
Pencilneck Software (developed by a Vancouver company), the new Chor Leoni website offers new opportunities for the choir. Along with the expected photos, sound samples, and video clips of a modern website, Chor Leoni’s new site has e-commerce built in so visitors can purchase CDs and season tickets conveniently. In addition the site offers a degree of interaction previously unavailable. "Audience members can write reviews of performances and recordings,” artistic director, Diane Loomer explains. “We are looking forward to seeing it in action!”
Special thanks go to Lauren at Raised Eyebrow and Steve at Pencilneck Software for their endless patience and ingenuity, to Chor Leoni’s website committee and our beta-testers, and to Daniel Sheinen and Stephen Broscoe, our previous webmasters.
Find the Hidden Paw Print and Win A Prize!
To encourage you to explore the many facets of our new website we have a contest. Hidden somewhere within our site is a lion's paw print. The contest begins at 9 a.m. November 14, and the first 10 people who find it receive a prize. Go on a cyber-safari and find that print! (This contest is not open to Chor Leoni members. Sorry guys.)
Please donate online today to the Chor Leoni Men’s Choir Endowment Fund.Matching program deadline: November 30, 2006
Time is almost running out to take advantage of matching programs that can turn every dollar you donate to the Chor Leoni Endowment Fund into six. Please make your gift by November 30, 2006.
Simple and direct, gifts to the endowment will provide lasting support, as the capital remains intact and a reliable flow of the fund's interest will be available each and every year. This endowment will help Chor Leoni realize exceptional music making, enrich our programs, commission new choral works, and educate and encourage a new generation of Lions.
Your donation will be matched by proceeds from the Chor Leoni Gala and then the BC Arts Renaissance Fund. It will also be eligible for matching by Canadian Heritage. This means that if you give today, each dollar could be turned into six! Your $100 could become $600. Your $1,000 could become $6,000.
Click here to give online. Please indicate that the gift is for the endowment fund. You can also donate by phone or cheque (payable to “Chor Leoni Men’s Choir” with a note that the gift is for the endowment). You will receive a tax receipt for the donation.

There are excellent tax advantages to donating securities instead of cash. We would be happy to discuss this option with you. Thank you for supporting the Lions!
“There’s something very inspirational - a basic goodness - when men sing together.
By donating to the Endowment Fund, you can help the choir be a standard and inspiration for the greater choral community and choral art, not only here in Vancouver and in Canada, but also throughout the world.”
