Choral 2008 Finals: CBC National Competition for Amateur Choirs

This is it - the finals of the CBC National Competition for Amateur Choirs, this year called Choral 2008. Chor Leoni is likely to sing "live-to-air" sometime just after 4:30 pm on April 30. (This is an estimate so please be early.) The other finalist in the category is Lady Cove Women's Choir from Newfoundland.

As usual, Lower Mainland choirs are well represented this year in the competition, which happens on April 29 and 30 (3 pm at Ryerson.) Chor Leoni congratulates them all on reaching the finals of this auspicious competition. They'd all love to have you cheering them on and admission is free. For your information here is the entire competition roster. Come out and support your local choirs!

Our friends at the CBC have provided the following instructions on how to do so:
 
1. Go to http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/
2. In the right column, click on any of the five time zones of 'live' streaming audio and turn up your computer's speakers
 
For instance out here in BC if people were unable to attend the performance at Ryerson yet wanted to hear the broadcast in "real time", they could listen to the Atlantic audio stream to hear all choirs singing 'live'.  The broadcasts begin at 3 pm (1500 hrs) both days so fans on other continents just have to factor in the time difference - but, they also have 5 audio streams from which to choose.
