For more than 20 years CBC Food Bank Day has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars annually for the Food Banks of BC. This yearly event has become one of the most important fund raising initiatives for those organizations tasked with feeding the needy and less privileged. As the demand has grown - so has CBC's commitment. Chor Leoni has been a part of this annual effort for many years, now, and we're glad to be back! We'll be up bright and early to sing on the Early Edition, so come on down and join in the fun. (And if you miss us, CBC has a ton of other cool guests throughout the day, so stop by anyway.)

This year, in an unprecedented act of community commitment - CBC BC - Radio, TV and Web - French and English services have joined forces and on December 4th focus all of their energy - on and off the air – to reach out to British Columbians and ask them to help us make a difference for those who’s needs are so great.

On December 4th, CBC Vancouver opens its doors and welcomes all to come and be a part of this Herculean day of generosity. Those who come to the CBC’s newly renovated, state of the art broadcast centre at 700 Hamilton Street will tour the building, meet CBC personalities from all services and experience the fun, festival atmosphere first hand. Food Bank volunteers will be available and ready to accept donations at stations around the building.

Broadcasting live throughout much of the day CBC Radio One 690 am 88.1 FM offers listeners an extraordinary array of musical talent – interesting guests and an opportunity to donate to the food banks in their area.

CBC Television will have live hits hourly – updating viewers on all the activities and how their generosity is making a difference.
