An appeal for financial contributions in these troubled times may seem terribly impertinent. There are so many pressing needs in today's world. Why contribute to the performing arts? Why choral music? Why this choir?

Why the performing arts? Because it is precisely in such troubled times that the performing arts, and music especially, play a crucial role in binding our wounds and binding our community to the world. The power of music to render private feelings of anger, grief, and fear into a widely comprehensible language was nowhere more clearly evinced than in the days and weeks following the tragic events of September 11th, 2001.

Why choral music? Because voice is the most commonly shared medium of music and, thus, to sing and be among singers is a most effective way to touch and share one's feelings of sorrow, joy and hope.

Why this choir? Because, while Chor Leoni aspires to be a world-class choir, its mission will always be to link innermost feelings, community and world through the medium of song.

Chor Leoni would like to thank all of our loyal supporters who have helped us create a recognized Canadian choral gem. Our granting agencies, arts councils, and all levels of governments have been instrumental in helping Chor Leoni grow and mature.

Individual donors

International invitations, commissioning new works by Canadian composers, and concert production are just a few of the on-going expenses Chor Leoni incurs. We are grateful for the support we receive from various levels of government, foundations, corporations and businesses,but a crucial element in all of this is the support from you, the private donor. Tax receipts are issued, and donations are always acknowledged in our programmes.
